We are often asked, is gCast CASL-compliant? The answer is, yes it is!

The two common scenarios for CASL compliance are:

    Scenario 1

Your head office (parent) account sends campaigns to members of franchise/branch (child) accounts. The head office wants members to be immediately unsubscribed from all communications sent by the head office AND any other account in the business group.

How to Set Up this Scenario

Settings required for this scenario to work (you will require the assistance of gCast Support for these settings):

    • Your head office account must have ‘Opt out all subpartner members’ option ticked
    • Your head office account must have the ‘you can contact their members’ option selected for each child account in their business relationship
    • Your head office account must have ‘Immediate’ selected as their ‘Email opt-out method’ and each child account in the business relationship must have either ‘Default’ or ‘Immediate’ selected as their email opt-out method

Expected gCast behaviour in this scenario:

    • Your head office account sends an email campaign to members of your franchise/branch accounts
    • When a member of one of these franchise/branch accounts clicks on the opt-out/unsubscribe link, gCast will immediately unsubscribe that person from all communications sent by the head office AND any other account in the business group in the future

    Scenario 2

Your head office (parent) account sends campaign to members of franchise/branch (child) accounts. The head office wants members to be able to see the accounts in the business group that they are subscribed to and be able to select which accounts they remain subscribed to (some, none, all).

    • Your head office account must have ‘Verified’ selected as their ‘Email opt-out method’ and each child account in the business relationship must have either ‘Default’ or ‘Verified’ selected as their email opt-out method

Expected gCast behaviour in this scenario:

    • Your head office account sends an email campaign to members of your franchise/branch accounts
    • When a member of one of these franchise/branch accounts clicks on the opt-out/unsubscribe link, gCast will send an email to the member’s email address
    • The member clicks on the unsubscribe link and is taken to a ‘preference centre’ where all franchise/branch accounts containing the member’s email address are displayed, with check box options next to each one enabling the member to opt-out of all, some, or none of these franchise/branch accounts

Please contact gCast Support if you would like assistance in setting up your accounts to be CASL compliant.
