This article is useful for gCast users that have content that they have pre-written and want to use again in the future in gCast without having to dig that content out of their own archives. It is also useful for gCast users in a parent/child hierarchy that want to maintain some element of consistency of tone and language in their content as 'Promotional Copy Content' allows you to take advantage of the sharing and 'push down' functionality available to parent/child hierarchies.

    Introduction

If you’ve written the perfect content for your campaign or template and want to use that content again in the future, without having to find the campaign or template you used it in, then saving your content as ‘Promotional Copy Content’ might be of use to you.

Create your copy content in gCast’s ‘Promotional Copy Content’ area and re-use that content again in the future, without the need to re-create the content every time.

How do I create new promotional copy content from scratch?

From the main gCast landing page, click on the ‘Admin’ link at the top of the page

In the ‘Promotional Copy Content’ area, click on the ‘Create new promotional copy content’ link

Either create a new category or select an existing category for your content (this is like filing your content in a folder to make it easy to find later on). You are required to select a category so if you don’t think you’ll have a lot of copy content items, then having one category called ‘My Copy Content’ might be an idea

gCast enables you to also create or select a sub category if you like, however the sub category field is not compulsory

Give your copy content piece a name in the ‘Abstract text’ field, then use the html WYSIWYG editor to create your copy content. Insert images, hyperlinks, trackable links, or other resources in if you like

When you’re happy with your copy content, click the ‘Save’ button and you’re done!

Your copy content is now available for insertion into your campaigns and templates

Note: the first time you create a new piece of promotional copy content, gCast will require you to create a new category. Every subsequent time you create a new piece, select ‘Other’ to create a new category (or sub category)

How do I edit existing promotional copy content?

From the main gCast landing page, click on the ‘Admin’ link at the top of the page

In the ‘Promotional Copy Content’ area, click on the ‘View all promotional copy content’ link

All of the promotional copy content that you’ve created will be listed in here along with a host of copy content items that we’ve shared with you too! You can’t edit this shared copy content but you can use it in your campaigns and templates and then edit the copy content in situ

To edit a content that you have created, you’ll see a folder structure that you can expand to the category (and sub category where applicable) you saved your content into and then click on the link for the content you want to modify, click on the ‘Edit this content’ link and make the changes you want, clicking ‘Save’ when you’re done

You can switch between ‘Create new coupon’ or ‘Upload new coupon’ and/or modify content as required

You’ll notice that you also have the option to create more promotional copy content here by clicking on the ‘Create your own’ link

Note: if you’re modifying existing copy content, the content of this coupon will not change in your existing campaigns (or in any sent emails) or templates. You will need to edit any campaigns or templates and either make the same modifications again in each or reinsert the copy content then save the campaign or template

How do I delete existing promotional copy content?

It is not currently possible to delete promotional copy content
